Welcome to Rombomb!
Because PSX files are so large, sometimes a few bytes can get lost, leaving you very confused and wondering why your file isn't working.
A file may not work for two reasons -
- You have an incomplete download
- We have a corrupt file
Verify Your File (View A Sample Video Below)
First, download and install fTweak Hash checker
Once this is installed, find the MD5 hash of the file on our website (listed on the game download page)
Next, find the file on your computer, right-click it, goto properties, select the 'Hash & CRC' tab (sometimes it has a longer name).
make sure only the 'MD5' box is ticked, then click 'Generate'. This will calculate the hash of the file that you have.
If the 'MD5' hash listed in your file properties matches the one on our site, your file is correct, please check you are trying to decompress it correctly
If it does not match*, you have an incomplete download. Next time, try using Firefox or a download manager to get the file.
* NB: usually the hash displayed in your file properties is cut off.. if the first 15 characters or so are the same, there is a very high chance you have a correct file. to view the entire hash from your properties, tick the 'MD5' box and click copy, then MD5, then paste it into your favorite word processor (I recommend Notepad!)
